FAQ
Common roof and gutter cleaning questions.
Are You Licensed, Bonded, And Insured?
Yes! I have a contractor’s license registered with the state of Washington that meets all the requirements necessary to perform roof and gutter cleaning services.
You can verify my license APCONCL773JS by clicking this link.
How Much Will It Cost To Have My Roof And Gutters Cleaned And Treated?
Every project is priced based on the following factors:
The square footage of the roof
The linear footage of the gutters
The amount of moss and debris on the roof
The amount of debris in the gutters
That being said, the more work there is to be done, the higher the cost.
On average, customers spend between $400 and $1,500 or more with me, depending on their specific needs.
Do You Use A Pressure Washer To Remove The Moss?
No! I strongly advise against using a pressure washer to remove moss, as it damages the shingles and drastically reduces the lifespan of your roof. The only exception would be metal roofs; however, even in that case, I don’t offer pressure washing due to safety concerns.
Do You Charge A Maintenance Fee For Annual Service?
I don’t charge a maintenance fee for regular service, as every customer is treated on a case-by-case basis. This means that if there’s less work to be done due to regular maintenance, the cost per service will be reduced accordingly.
I Have Pets, Gardens, Health Concerns... Do You Offer An Alternative To Zinc Sulfate?
Yes! I do offer Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda) as an alternative to Zinc Sulfate. It is safe for animals, garden plants and is non-toxic if ingested.
Do You Offer Other Services Outside Of Roof & Gutter Cleaning?
The services I offer are limited to roof cleaning, gutter cleaning, and roof moss treatment.
However, depending on your needs, I can refer you to other professionals who are best suited to take care of you.
What Kind Of Moss Treatment Do You Use?
The primary treatment that I use is powdered Zinc Sulfate that can be used wet or dry.
It prevents moss growth by drying out and killing existing moss spores and changes the PH balance of the roofing surface, creating an environment that prevents moss from returning if regularly applied.
It can be safely applied to any roofing material!
My Roof Is Steep, Will You Be Able To Clean My Roof?
Yes! I have specialized equipment and ropes that allow me to work safely on any roof surface, at any angle.
Of course, if for any reason I’m unable to take care of you, I have a list of trusted professionals I can refer you to who will!
Will It Damage My Roof If You Use Your Brushes To Remove The Moss?
No—Brushing is a careful, roof-safe method for removing moss. While it’s normal for a few granules to come loose during the process, this is a natural occurrence that also happens over time due to weather and age. It does not harm or compromise the integrity of your roof.
